With over 30 years of experience in the property and construction industry, Heath moved into facilities management in the early 90s. In 2002, he set up the facilities management arm of the Mace group, Macro UK, with the support of former colleagues.
In 2008, Heath became chairman of Macro UK and managing director of Mace Macro International in the Middle East, currently delivering FM services in the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Jordan. The company has grown from two people to 200.
Since the inception of the fmME Awards, under Heath’s helm, Macro International has won the title of “FM Consultancy of the Year” six consecutive times, with judges praising the firm’s approach to FM consultancy in the region. The company manages the entire property lifecycle, offering strategic advice on the management of properties, right through to day-to-day operations.
Heath strives to reinvent himself; in an interview with CW’s sister title fmME, he said he loves “working with people” and makes sure his firm retains its clients.
Last month, Heath put another feather in his cap by adding the title ‘chairman of the Macro group’, covering the US, UK, Europe and the MENA region.
