Fadi Ghandour is the outspoken founder of Gulf parcel delivery firm Aramex. He might have sold his shares in the firm, but that does not mean he is slowing down. Now managing partner at Wamda Capital, Ghandour continues to provide support for many start-ups in the region, urging angel investors to have faith in MENA entrepreneurs and helping to build a thriving start-up ecosystem.
The Jordanian businessman, who was born in Beirut, helped set up Aramex 30 years ago and led its growth to become one of the most successful logistics firms in the Middle East. He has strong views on public policy, including youth opportunity, telling a conference in Dubai in May that the UAE education system was “broken”.
