Several years ago, Abu Dhabi announced the UAE would direct its energies towards becoming a knowledge-based economy. The road to success would be built by Emiratis earning education in maths and science. Jassim Al Seddiqi is a shining example of what can be achieved. He has a master’s of science in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering from Cornell University, US, as well as a bachelor of science in electrical engineering.
His job as CEO and managing director of Abu Dhabi Financial Group is to devise investment strategies. Earlier this month he launched ADCorp, the first Islamic financial institution located in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, after raising $100m in capital.
Alseddiqi describes himself on Twitter as a “visionary investor” and this is at the heart of what makes him stay ahead of the competition.
