Many of the most recognisable locally produced brands in the supermarket are there because of IFFCO Group. With nearly 40 years in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) market, the family business has a strong portfolio of leading brands such as London Dairy, Rahma, Tiffany, Al Baker and Noor.
The Allana family is worth a reported $3.6bn, making it one of the most powerful Indian families in the GCC.
Established in 1975 in Sharjah by the late Abdul Razak Allana, the UAE-based group is now run by brothers Feroz, Irfan and Shiraz and has spread globally with its products available across the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, West Asia, the Far East, Australia and the US.
London Dairy has been one of the group’s biggest successes since it bought the distribution licence in 2000. With Igloo in its portfolio, too, IFFCO Group continued to lead the UAE’s ice cream market last year, with a 39 percent share, according to Ken Research. The success of London Dairy has also seen the launch of branded cafes in Bahrain and the UAE.
As well as food-related products, IFFCO Group has businesses in packaging, chemicals, sales and distribution. Its footprint covers the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, West Asia, the Far East, Australia and the USA.
