Crowned the UAE’s first female nuclear scientist in 2012, Amani Al Hosani started her career in oil, but switched to nuclear energy when she realised it was going to play a key role in the UAE’s future. The young engineer now works in a managerial role at Nawah Energy Company, operators of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Abu Dhabi, which is expected to be up and running by 2020. She also has expertise in designing nuclear reactors and analytic sciences for safety. That is why she is one of Arabian Business’ ‘Future Stars’, too.
