Najla Al Midfa made history when she joined the board of United Arab bank in 2012, the first time an Emirati woman had done so. Currently the general manager at Sheraa, the Sharjah government’s entrepreneurship promotion initiative, she organises the largest entrepreneurship drive in the UAE encouraging the young and enterprising to pitch their business ideas.
Al Midfa has a history in fostering such initiatives: she is the Founder of Khayarat, a platform that allows young Emiratis to make informed career choices. Prior to this, she was a Senior Manager at the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, where she led a team of business counselors to identify and select ventures for financing. Other roles she occupies include being a founding board member of Education for Employment UAE and Women Corporate Directors GCC.
