Moopen joined healthcare giant Aster DM in 2012, quickly making a mark on the company her father, Dr Azad Moopen founded. As executive director and CEO for Hospitals and Clinics in the GCC, Alisha Moopen oversees the company’s operations across the Gulf region, tailoring Aster’s corporate strategy, while maintaining a keen eye on potential expansion opportunities.
Aster’s portfolio of hospitals, clinics and pharmacies include presence in its home base in the UAE as well as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, India and the Philippines. The firm employs more than 20,000 employees working across 320 establishments in nine countries. Moopens $130 million investment plan has seen the opening of a new 150-bed hospital in Dubai in January, and will look to grow Aster DM’s reach by four more in the GCC as well as a further five facilities in India.
