Micky Jagtiani was inducted into the Retail Hall of Fame during the 2017 World Retail Congress in Dubai, demonstrating his standing as one of the most prominent and dynamic retail personalities in Dubai and the wider region.
Jagtiani founded the Landmark Group in 1973 with a single store in Bahrain and has successfully grown it into one of the largest retail and hospitality conglomerates in the region. A constant innovator, he has created and conceptualised dozens of diverse brands, several of which are market leaders today. “Retail for me has always been more than a business, it is a way to life and it is about people who have helped me get here,” Jagtiani says.
“The GCC has been my home for over 55 years; during this time I have seen it become a global powerhouse, thanks to the vision and passion of the region’s leadership,” he adds.
Landmark Group operates over 2,300 outlets encompassing over 30 million square feet across the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian sub-continent.
It has a strong workforce of over 55,000 employees and operates a range of household brands, including Centrepoint, Babyshop, Splash, Shoe Mart, Lifestyle, Iconic, Max, Shoexpress, Home Centre, Home Box, Emax and UAE first food discounter VIVA.
