With a degree in Computer Science and Information Technology, extensive training and various international and local financial and risk management education programmes, Nashar is well-versed in management best practices.

Nashar joined Samba Financial Group in 1997, and rose to senior positions through the company’s executive career track programme.
Amongst her accomplishments at Samba has been the creation of a centralised compliance department; this was widely lauded by the Saudi banking industry.
She was a key player in developing Samba’s online positioning strategy by launching the first electronic banking in the country. In addition, she has contributed in coordinating the efforts of the merger with USB and worked on many Citibank initiatives and projects such as handling the business process domain on behalf of the consumer bankk for the Y2K issue and introducing the Citibank Quality programme, in addition to other initiatives.
Nashar’s profile reflects her extensive experience in the financial industry. Her high professional standards and in-depth knowledge of the business has seen her chosen as Chief coordinator to deal with respective regulatory authorities.Nashar has attended the Leadership Development Programme at Darden School of Business in Virginia University.
She is certified in Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) in association with the George Washington University School of Business and the first Saudi woman to earn the title Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
She is the first female in GCC to manage a compliance group and the first female chief auditor in the Saudi financial industry. In addition to her position at Samba, Nashar is currently vice chair of Samba Capital and a board member of Samba Bank (Pakistan) and Samba Global Markets Ltd.
Nashar is a member of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul), Saudi Space Commission, Saudi CMA Advisory Committee and a board member in the Institute of the International Finance in the USA.
She is also been appointed to chair the Women in Business Action Council which is the Saudi B20 signature topic under Saudi Arabia G20 Presidency.
She was chosen by Forbes as one of the Top 100 Powerful Women in the World in 2018 and 2019, and ranked ninth in the Most Powerful Women In Finance In 2018.
Nashar has been appointed as a board member in the Saudi Polo Federation responsible for promoting the sport among Saudi various communities and ensuring appropriate governance of the board affairs.
