In a rare female appointment to an international body, Saudi Arabia named Princess Haifa Al-Mogrin as its representative to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in January 2020.
During its UNESCO membership, the kingdom has pledged to preserve Arab culture and heritage, support innovation and technology for sustainable social development, and promote tolerance.
Princess Haifa received her bachelor’s degree in Economics from King Saud University in Riyadh in 2000 and her master’s degree in Science in Economics with Reference to the Middle East from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London in 2007.
