Gadahn is wanted in California for alleged treason and supplying material to Al Qaeda. As an American-born operative in Al Qaeda, he became known as the spokesman and media advisor for the terror group. He has appeared on US TV and he is said to have inspired Osama bin Laden’s September 2007 video, in which the Al Qaeda leader referred to the subprime mortgage crisis.
