Akram Miknas was born in Lebanon but is a Bahraini national. He is the founder of the now ubiquitous Promoseven Holdings group, under whose umbrella reside some of the most sought-after brands in advertising and PR, and which today is the largest advertising and communications network in the Middle East and North Africa.
In 2008, subsidiary Fortune Promoseven made advertising history by becoming the first agency from the Middle East to win two Gold and two Silver Lions in the same year, at the 55th Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival held in France.
Miknas also owns several major hospitality and leisure companies in the kingdom and is owner of the McDonald’s franchise in Lebanon. With an interest running into real estate, Miknas owns prime buildings in various countries and is also a partner in several real estate and investment ventures.
Working with several governments in and out of the region on various projects, campaigns and developmental work, Miknas undertook the marketing of the Asian Games in Doha 2006 and helped launch a communications strategy for the Gulf Air Bahrain F1 Grand Prix.
An avid collector of antiques and objets d’art, his interests extend into mid-19th century memorabilia as well as a remarkable collection of vintage and heritage cars.
