Maqbool Hameed Mohammed al Saleh has always focused on the long term. He worked in the office of Oman’s Diwan of Royal Court for over a decade before fulfilling his dream of owning his own company.
Since finally establishing Oman Holdings International (OHI) in the 1970s, he has gone to on to own one of the largest and most successful business houses in Oman.
Today OHI straddles a number of industries including oil and gas, IT, defence and security, vehicle leasing and steel fabrication. It also operates a number or subsidiaries such as OHI Marine Equipment Company and OHI Petroleum and Energy Services.
Al Saleh is a rare example of a man who has kept pace with change and is always on the lookout for new technologies and business methodologies to keep his business’ relentless pace.
“The world economy and the regional economies seem to have come out of the worst of the recession, and have started reflecting signs of recovery,” said Al Saleh.
