Nasser Abdul Rahman Kamal

Company: Qatar Project Management

Designation: CEO

Nasser Abdul Rahman Kamal is the CEO of one of the region’s premier project management companies, Qatar Project Management (QPM), and has helped forge the organisation’s regulatory and strategic frameworks, which situate the company as the first Qatari firm in the field.

In a region demarcated by relatively young companies, QPM adheres to this trend, having only been established in 2008. However, despite the organisation’s perceived youth, Kamal’s strategic business development initiatives and cross-sector experience tells a different story – one which is imbued with decades of expertise and an expanding portfolio of international mega projects.

Kamal’s career spans 27 years and focuses on project management, engineering, design and maintenance in diverse industries, including oil, gas, infrastructure and real estate.

Between 1995 and 2001, he managed various oil and gas projects, including the Dukhan Arab ‘D’ Gas Recycling Project, the largest condensate processing plant in Qatar.

Kamal holds a BEng from Huddersfield Polytechnic in the UK, and a host of specialised management certificates.

It is the diversity and depth of Kamal’s qualifications and experiences which fortify, and perpetuate, his ongoing achievements at QPM.

Between 2001 and 2008, Kamal refined his expertise as a project manager in the development of Qatar Petroleum’s headquarters, which has a 600,000m2 footprint. This complex is designed to stand as a unique landmark of modern design, accommodating 3,100 associates.

Under Kamal’s guidance, QPM provides leading real-estate and infrastructure project management services that perpetuate world-class standards, while ensuring project efficiency and focus for civil infrastructure, commercial, leisure and residential projects within the growing global marketplace.

Inherent in the company is its impetus to serve Qatar’s growing need for quality project management, while directly supporting the nation’s 2030 vision.
