One of Dubai’s most popular businessmen, Yogesh (better-known as ‘Yogi’) Mehta is a regular feature on the speaking and networking circuit. He came to Dubai at the age of 29 with no job, no plan and no future. Today, he looks after a billion-dollar company, which exports more than 700,000 metric tonnes of products worldwide, has a healthy cash flow and a reputation for quality. Mehta established Petrochem Middle East in 1995 in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, including its own state-of-the-art storage terminal for bulk and drum chemicals. Established as a partnership with Petrochem UK, the company has become one of the largest independent petrochemical distributors in the Middle East, with offices in Dubai, Taiwan, Singapore, Mumbai and Shanghai.
