One of the most established Iraqi journalists and TV presenters, Souhair Al Qaisi is currently the senior news anchor and TV presenter with the pan-Arab broadcasting group MBC.
She was one of the youngest TV presenters to start with Al Arabiya TV in 2004. She quickly gained popularity and became one of the best known Iraqi personalities. Her show Parliament Race was the first to host election debates in any Arabic media. Daring to visiting the most dangerous places in Iraq to report on her fellow citizens’ harsh living conditions, Al Qaisi has drawn attention to their plight and helped to provide basic needs to war-affected women and children. Earlier this year, she was one of the first UN partners to visit west Mosul, where coalition-backed forces reclaimed areas from ISIL.
