Not that he needed the boost to his profile. As boss of Hydra Properties, Dr Al Fahim had already turned the firm into one of the world’s fastest growing companies, signing off some $2bn in projects in its first two years. He also chairs Falcon Equity, a high-profile private equity company that was recently linked with a takeover of Chelsea Football Club. A recognised tycoon, Dr Al Fahim has snared dozens of awards, including the prestigious ‘CEO Middle East Award for International Achievement’ last year.

Leaving aside from his investment interests, Dr Al Fahim has also made his mark on the small screen. His reality television show ‘The Hydra Executives’, which pitches Americans against Brits in the UAE’s real estate market, is currently topping local television ratings. With reported plans to add a movie fund to his growing investment portfolio, Dr Al Fahim may also be upgrading to the silver screen. Over in America, he has already been dubbed the Prince of Hollywood’for his friendship with stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio.

Late last year the United Nations named Dr Al Fahim as a goodwill ambassador for IIMSAM, a role he balances with his duties for the UN as honorary chairman of the Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Organization (IREO), a body charged with seeking out the best scientists and companies working in the industry and to promote renewable energy projects and technologies.

Dr Al Fahim is also a top-selling author, His first book ‘Brand Builder’ is racing up the charts, while his second offering ‘Executive Diaries — The Story Behind The Television Phenomenon’ is due for release in May.

In his spare time — the little he has — he is an avid chess player, and president of the UAE Chess Federation. It’s not bad for a man only 32-years-old.
