As CEO of Qatar Development Bank (QDB), Abdulaziz Bin Nasser Al Khalifa is playing a key role in the development of the private sector in Qatar — specifically the contribution of the all-important SME sector.  Prior to joining QDB, where he has held several executive leadership positions, Al Khalifa worked at Qatar Shell for nearly three years and held technical and managerial positions at The Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation for six years prior to that. He has extensive experience in the SME, private and entrepreneurship sectors. He played a leading role in the launch of several flagship development initiatives, including the Al Dhameen Partial Guarantee Programme, Tasdeer Qatar Export Development Agency and the Housing Loan Programme for Qatari citizens.
