Mazen Jaidah holds a series of high-profile positions, aside from running his own family firm. Jaidah Holdings operates in three different industries: energy and engineering (where it has partnerships with the likes of Brookfield Multiplex), and property and hospitality (it owns the W Doha Hotels & Residences). Earlier this year, Jaidah’s hospitality subsidiary, Nozul Hotels & Resorts, purchased the Gritti Palace Hotel in Venice for $117m. The Gritti is regarded as one of the most celebrated and historic hotels in Europe. Jaidah is a board member on the Supreme Education Council, and also sits on the boards of the Qatar Foundation and Qatar Navigation (Milaha). He is also the first Qatari to claim a master’s degree and doctorate from Harvard University in the US.
