If there is one person who can create a buzz, it is Ahlam Ali Al Shamsi. The Bahraini-born singer caused a controversial frenzy with her show The Queen, in reference to herself, in March last year. It saw her ask contestants to prove their love and loyalty to her, which eventually led to the show’s cancellation due to complaints of “lack of manners” and “degrading acts” from viewers.
Despite her mishaps, however, Al Shamsi is one of the most followed personas in the Middle East, with 6.6 million fans on Instagram.
She was also on the judging panel of Arab Idol and has released a total of 10 albums.
