Danube Group has been supplying building materials to all of the top developments in the UAE since the 1990s. Now it is making its mark with its own real estate projects.
Founded by Indian entrepreneur Rizwan Sajan, the group’s real estate development company Danube Properties is filling the gap in affordable housing in the country. It currently has eight projects, including three it launched last year, Glamz, Starz and Miraclz.
Three Glitz towers are under construction in Studio City and there are plans for Resortz, a neoclassical designed residential development near Miracle Gardens in Dubai.
Its first scheme, Dreamz by Danube, sold out within hours in 2014. Based on its success, Danube Properties is targeting three to four new real estate projects each year.
In 2016, the group also branched into retail with three Danube Home stores in the UAE. Another three are due to open before the end of the year. It also opened the first aluminum composite panel factory in the Middle East.
Danube Group now has 38 offices across the Gulf, India and China and more than 1,800 employees.
It was expecting to record $1.5bn worth of revenues in 2016 after the company announced $1.4bn for 2015. This was a staggering 83 percent higher than in 2014 — attributed to a substantial increase in construction activity.
