Assala Nasri is currently Syria’s most famous musical export. She began her career back in 1991 with her first album, and has since racked up 20 albums. Her most recent album, A Stubborn Personality, was released two years ago. But Assala has also been making waves away from the stage as well.  Her television show, Soula, is now into its third season on Dubai TV, and has been a bona fide hit. Bahrain’s King Hamad offered her Bahraini citizenship after she gave a performance in support of the country’s national day; she now holds dual Bahrain/Syrian citizenship.
