US President Donald Trump has revealed plans to visit Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar as early as next month.

The proposed May trip would represent Donald Trump’s first foreign visit during his second spell as US President.

The President has previously said he will visit Saudi Arabia to secure a $1tn investment deal.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said: “It could be next month, maybe a little later. And we’re going to Qatar, also, and also we’re going to possibly a couple of other countries. UAE is very important … so we’ll probably stop at UAE and Qatar”.

Reuters reported that mid-May was a possible date for the official visits.

Trump, reiterating remarks he made in early March, said his trip to Saudi Arabia would be to seal an agreement to invest upwards of $1 trillion in the U.S. economy, including purchases of military equipment.

Without sharing specific details, Donald Trump said: “Tremendous jobs will be created in those two or three days”.

A Whitehouse spokesperson said: “An opportunity for international travel for the president is something that is being looked at. We don’t yet have a specific plan, and we will provide that information when it is official”.
