The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) will lead a delegation of high-level government and industry leaders for the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) in Pittsburgh, US.
The summit, commencing on Wednesday, will discuss issues which will shape the future of manufacturing in a net-zero world.
MoIAT is the co-chair of GMIS.
The UAE delegation will be part of over 60 international experts that will participate in the three-day summit.
Seeking to explore new areas of growth and global cooperation, the UAE delegation will present the country’s business environment and competitive advantages and incentives that make it attractive to foreign investors, manufacturers, innovators and SMEs.
Emirati experts will share their knowledge and fresh perspectives on advancing sustainable manufacturing practices and the global energy transition.
Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, MoIAT minister, will deliver a recorded keynote address highlighting the UAE’s commitment to comprehensive and sustainable industrialisation at the summit.
Al Jaber’s address will also cover strengthening UAE-US trade ties, stimulating cross-border collaboration and the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ campaign.

Omar Al Suwaidi, under-secretary of MoIAT, will join Diane Farrell, US deputy under-secretary for international trade to deliver keynote addresses at the inaugural session of the summit.
Al Suwaidi said GMIS America provided a platform to showcase the UAE’s exceptional value proposition to international businesses, and the promising investment opportunities within the country’s industrial sector.
“We look forward to the dialogue and potential partnerships between the US and the UAE that will spur greater strategic ties and bilateral relations between the two nations,” he said.

MoIAT will also host an interactive panel to present the country’s national strategy for industry and advanced technology – Operation 300 billion – inviting industrialists, investors, innovators, and entrepreneurs to engage and benefit from the UAE’s unique investment environment and fast-growing industrial sector.
Namir Hourani, managing director of the GMIS Organising Committee, said following its inauguration in the UAE, the summit has been hosted in some of the world’s leading industrial and technology hubs to promote collaboration in the form of sharing resources, expertise, and knowledge, which is the foundation for long-term mutually beneficial partnerships.
“This will be our first of many GMIS America editions, which we plan to hold in Pittsburgh annually,” Hourani said.
The UAE’s leaders will be joined by c-suite executives and senior leaders of some of the leading USA-based organisations at the summit.
