The UAE has emerged as one of the most powerful passports in the world, with a visa-free or visa-on-arrival score of 176, according to the latest Henley Passport Index.

The title comes after the UAE emerged as the “pandemic winner,” making it the strongest passport in the GCC region and the Middle East.

“Throughout the turmoil of the past two years, one thing has remained constant: the growing strength of the UAE passport, which now sits at 15th place on the ranking,” read a statement released by Henley & Partners.

The statement dubbed UAE as the “biggest climber on the index,” as the nation has witnessed massive growth over the past decade, through several initiatives and schemes launched by the government for new business and investors despite the global pandemic. In 2012, it sat at 64th place on the rankings with a score of just 106, the statement read.

Henley & Partners also added that peaceful countries hold the most powerful passports.

Over time, the UAE has been in the limelight as it attracts investors from the world over.

This year, the nation is yet to witness the highest net influx of high net worth individuals (HNWI) estimated to 4,000, showing a 208 percent increase compared to the 2019 net inflow of 1,300 which was one of its largest on record.
