Saudi Ministry of Defense signs deals worth $1.8 billion at the World Defense Show

Among the deals signed at the WDS 2022, the Saudi Ministry of Defense inked a deal worth $799.66 million (SAR 3 billion) with Korean defense firm Hanwha to support the defense capabilities, localisation, and supply chain services of the Royal Saudi Land Forces

The Saudi Ministry of Defense has signed 10 deals worth $1.8 billion (SAR 7 billion) with local and international companies at the World Defense Show 2022 (WDS 2022) in Riyadh, the state-run Saudi Press Agency reported.

Among the deals signed at the WDS 2022, the Saudi Ministry of Defense inked a deal worth $799.66 million (SAR 3 billion) with Korean defense firm Hanwha to support the defense capabilities, localisation, and supply chain services of the Royal Saudi Land Forces.

The Saudi MoD also signed three different contracts worth $453.12 (SAR1.7 billion) with Alsalam Aerospace Industries to provide maintenance services for the Royal Saudi Air Force.

In addition, another contract worth $213.23 million (SAR 800 million) was signed with the Naval Arabia Group to provide vessel technical support services to the Royal Saudi Navy Forces.

The Ministry of Defense also signed a $122.61 million (SAR 460 million) contract with Poongsan Corporation to secure various types of ammunition for the General Directorate of Arms and Ammunitions.

Furthermore, a deal worth more than $114.61 million (SAR 430 million) was signed with China-based Norinco, aimed at securing different types of ammunition for the General Directorate of Arms and Ammunitions.

The Saudi MoD also inked a deal worth $106.61 million (SAR 400 million) with the GDC Middle East to provide technical support for the C130 aircraft for the Royal Saudi Air Forces.
