A majority of business executives in the UAE and Saudi Arabia are confident in their companies’ ability to “withstand disruptive forces,” a new survey revealed.
Disruption, which has been a buzzword in the corporate scene in recent years, refers to forces that displace businesses, markets, and operating models.
Around 78 percent of regional executives said they are ready for disruption, the survey by AlixPartners showed, and 71 percent are expecting for an increase in disruptive forces over the next two to three years.

“Governments in the region, particularly UAE and KSA, are at the forefront of innovation, and exhibit pace, agility, foresight, and an action-oriented approach to navigate the challenges ahead,” Simon Freakley, chief executive officer at AlixPartners, said.
He added: “This lead-by-example model at the highest level sends a clear and encouraging message to businesses in the region to constantly pre-empt, adapt and even become the disruptors in their respective industries and sectors.”
The surveyed business leaders highlighted three areas of concern when it comes to disruption – supply chain management, workforce, and digital.
