The meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry is a growing sector within the Middle East and has been one for years with the rise of business tourism. With shifts in industries and changes worldwide, it is safe to say that the region has been and looks to always be a growing metropolis for exhibitions, events and more.
The Kingdom of Bahrain has always been distinguished throughout its long history of being a global magnet for investment and trade. The Kingdom has had a history of being a prominent destination for international events and exhibitions for over 3 decades.
The hospitable island, a melting pot of traditions and culture, has placed itself on the global MICE map by hosting a variety of world-renowned events, international exhibitions of all sizes, and a meeting point for international groups of all backgrounds due to its strategic location linking the East and West. It is only expected that, as an attractive destination, the Kingdom would introduce to the region the latest in innovation and flexibility: Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB).
Since its inception in November 2022, EWB has placed itself at the epicenter of the region’s growth within the MICE sector.
EWB is the Kingdom’s newest exhibition and convention centre in the Middle East. It is a state-of-the-art venue and an essential initiative that supports the diversification of sustainable sources of income for the Kingdom. Exhibition World Bahrain has, since its introduction, defined Bahrain’s distinguished position within the region as the Kingdom’s hub for various business activities, entertainment, and sport.
Fully equipped to accommodate all types of events, from large exhibitions and conventions, to conferences, meetings and corporate events, product launches, training seminars, gala celebrations, weddings, live entertainment and more.
The centre also positions the country on an international scale as it hosts the largest economic, political, technological, social, and cultural events. EWB is owned by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), working alongside ASM Global, the globally renowned venue management company.
EWB encompasses 10 versatile exhibition halls of different ceiling heights 10,12,14 M, with a total area of 95,000 SQM, all of which are equipped with essential technical services and storage spaces, together with independent exits and entrances.
The Convention Centre at EWB includes an extraordinary Grand Hall that offers world-class flexibility in design with multiple configurations to incorporate and customise every type of event, from conferences to large weddings, graduations, theatrical performances, gala celebrations, and so much more. It features retractable seating with rows of multiple tiers, with up to 4,000 guests’ capacity.
In less than a year since opening, EWB has hosted over 138 events, attracting local, regional, and international guests from all over the world. With a busy calendar since opening its doors to the public, the venue has received more than half a million local and international visitors across a variety of exhibitions, events, and conventions.
Such exposure and footfall have, in turn, allowed the venue to place the Kingdom of Bahrain at the forefront of excellence within the regional MICE industry. At such a pace, EWB prepares itself for another eventful year.
As exposure increases and footfall is steady, word travels fast throughout the international world of exhibitions and events. International exposure, in turn, has also turned the heads of many global exhibitions and event associations. With such a standing, EWB, within a short time, has built the necessary caliber to become a member of many worldwide organisations within the MICE industry.
Among a growing group of ten so far, a few include ICCA, UFI, PCMA, AIPC and IAEE. By taking part in worldwide initiatives, such action has long since attracted international, regional, and local exhibitions and conferences.

As well as building a strong international network within the MICE sector globally, successful outcomes of the venue’s first year of exhibitions, events, and conventions have placed the Kingdom of Bahrain in the top 100 of the International Congress and Convention Association’s (ICCA) Global Rankings for the past five years, claiming the 89th position.
This is the highest ranking that Bahrain has received within the last decade and is celebrated as a major achievement. These successful milestones further strengthen Bahrain’s status as a leading destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions.
EWB has worked hard to earn high-standing achievements. Awards, nominations, and memberships to international congresses within the MICE industry have been but a small part of what the venue has added to its list of accomplishments.
Just under a year later, the venue has been nominated for the Middle East’s Leading Exhibition & Convention Centre 2023 Award by the Annual World Travel Awards, a prestigious global recognition body within the global travel and tourism industry. Such an accolade reflects the venue’s strong presence within the region, positioning it as the newest and latest in exhibition and event experiences.

EWB works to capitalise on attracting international, regional, and local exhibitions, conferences, destination weddings, and international performances. Such an initiative will shed light on the Kingdom of Bahrain as a prime destination within the region for all industry-related happenings and have a positive impact within the Middle East.
Following its inauguration, EWB has remained true and succeeded in placing the Kingdom on the MICE map. As the venue continues to be a popular destination within industry, it is only fitting that we look to the venue as setting stone for the Kingdom’s success as well as the region’s on a global scale by being at the forefront of the sector. Located in the heart of the Kingdom, the most appealing new destination for the experience of a lifetime.
