International passengers travelling to India will no longer need to fill out the Air Suvidha form, following a slew of rules amended by the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The government of India had introduced the Air Suvidha form, in order to register details of inbound passengers. Details also included PCR test results, vaccination status, among others.
The new rules, which come into effect from November 22, also allow unvaccinated passengers to travel to India, though it remains preferred.
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), the latest travel decision came after assessing and monitoring the current Covid-19 situation, which showed substantial improvement and a high vaccination rate in the country.
Passengers will also be reminded of the pandemic, along with preventive measures recommended to be followed, through in-flight announcements and points of entry.
Passengers with Covid-19 symptoms during travel will be isolated as per standard protocol. The passenger must wear a face mask at all times, and must be isolated from other passengers on board.
On landing, the passenger will be shifted to an isolation facility to be tend to.
