Video: Tesla shows off ventilator prototype made from car components

Tesla Inc. engineers showed footage of a prototype ventilator the company is trying to make with auto parts amid a shortage of the machines for #coronavirus patients. According to the video on Tesla’s YouTube channel, the design includes a touch screen, computer and control system from a Model 3 electric car. Tesla is taking advantage of components that are familiar, reliable and available, an engineer says in the video.

Video: This is BMW’s i4 concept car, it’s answer to Tesla

BMW Chief Executive Officer Oliver Zipse shied away from identifying the Model 3 as the i4’s main target, saying his company’s new car “doesn’t compare to any other brand” in an interview with Bloomberg Television. The i4’s electric motor delivers as much as 530 horsepower and can accelerate to 100 kilometres per hour in about four seconds. Its battery will have a range of around 600 kilometres (372 miles).
