A store
dedicated to local designers’ collection, Design 971, has launched in The Dubai Mall.

The shop will
showcase creations ranging from fashion to art and contemporary furniture.

Every two
months, the collections will change to feature different local designers and
their products.

During the months
of January and February, fashion creations by six designers will be featured.

The designers
are: Amongst Few, All Things Mochi, House of Fatam, Reemami, OSAYMIi, and Elena
Burba.

Amongst Few is
a Dubai-based streetwear brand that combines traditional Emirati wear with
Western style.

All Things
Mochi was founded by Aya Tabari, a Palestinian born in Saudi Arabia, raised in
Jordan, educated in the UK, and settled in Dubai. In her designs, she uses
traditional fabrics from each of the mentioned cultures.

Alternatively, House of Fatam (HOF) is another Dubai-born fashion line by three Emirati
sisters Lamya, Shaima and Fatma Gargash and their business partner Eliza Ilyas.
The brand was originally launched in 2011 as part of a school project for Esmod
Fashion School in Dubai.

Reemami,
created by award-winning local designer Reema Al Banna, focuses on
architectural and experimental cuts and hand illustrated graphics.

The most
recently launched brand out of the bunch is OSAYMI, a fashion house by designer
Ali Al Usaimi. It specifically focuses on trendy designs that are made of
high-quality fabrics.

The sixth
brand, Elena Burba, was founded in 2009 and is a commercial ready-to-wear brand
with a strong cultural identity.
