Planet Technology Corporation is touting the cost effectiveness of its VPN/Firewall router. According to the vendor, the Planet VRT-401S combines high speed routing capabilities with a range of advanced client to VPN gateways and LAN to LAN VPN solutions.The product offers and built in connection wizard and standards-based VPN support, as well as integrating user access control, policy based controls and SPI firewall protection.Furthermore, Planet Technology claims its router offers easy integration and full compatibility with existing network infrastructures and provides 4 port auto sensing, auto MDI/MDI-X 10/100 Mbits/s switch and a 10/100Base-TX WAN port.In terms of security, the router incorporates 56-bit DES and 168-bit 3DES encryption, header authentication and internet key exchange (IKE) access control.
