In a bid to make sharing music and photos a PC-free process, Sandisk has equipped its new Sansa Connect MP3 players with wireless networking features.
The Sansa Connect player can access the internet via any wireless hotspot and allows users to share music and photos. This differs from Microsoft’s Zune music players, which allows users to share music files with other Zune-users via a Wifi connection. Zune players do not however offer internet access at present.
Sandisk’s latest model offers 4Gbytes of internal memory though this can be upgraded thanks to the presence of a microSD memory slot. A 2.2” colour LCD is offered as standard along with a built-in speakers which makes it possible to listen to tunes without using a set of headphones.
The Sansa Connect will be available for purchase in March and is expected to retail for $250.
