Kalidou Koulibaly has signed for Saudi football side Al Hilal.
The Senegalese international is the latest in a growing number of high-profile players to make the switch to the Saudi Pro league.
Koulibaly makes the switch to Al Hilal from Chelsea for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around $25m.
Saudi football transfers
Koulibaly joins former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves, who signed a contract with the decorated Saudi side the day before.
Football sides in the Kingdom are undergoing a major transformation, attracting many of the biggest and best-known names in the sport.
The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in January sparked a new-found interest in football in the country. Players and spectators alike are looking on as more big names from the football world look to the Middle East.
As well as Ronaldo, high-profile players including Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante have already made the move to Saudi Arabian football.
While many players are viewing a move to the Kingdom as a lucrative way to end a career, Ruben Neves, at just 26, stands out as a player in their prime moving to the emerging league.
Koulibaly and Neves moving to Al Hilal will not be the last star players to switch to Saudi Arabia this summer.
Lionel Messi, Romelu Lukaku, Luka Modric and Song Heung-min have all turned down huge salaries to pursue contracts elsewhere.
Managers Steven Gerrard and Jose Mourinho have also for now, rejected approaches to take up coaching roles.
However, more star arrivals are all but guaranteed to follow.
Hakim Ziyech and Edouard Mendy seem all but certain to depart Chelsea for the Kingdom, while Manchester City’s treble-winning heroes Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan are strongly linked with transfer moves.
