The UAE has made changes to the way exams are undertaken in schools across the country.

Starting on February 27 and until March 3, exams in UAE schools will trial the use of digital technology for exams.

The Emirates School Establishment (ESE) announced that school exams will use both paper and electronic testing for students between Grade 3 and Grade 12.

Subjects adopting the electronic online system for exams in the UAE include:

  • Arabic
  • English
  • Maths
  • Physics
  • Science

Taking to social media to announce the changes to exams in the United Arab Emirates, the ESE said: “This decision aims to improve the quality of educational outputs and enhance students’ creative and academic skills”.

Electronic exams will ask pupils between Grade 3 and Grade 12 age a series of multiple-choice questions as part of curriculum testing.

The decision to adopt online and electronic testing is part of the Emirates School Establishment’s plan to improve the quality of educational output and provide all necessary support to students in their educational career.
