As UAE National Day celebrations grip the country roads around the emirates will be closed for marches and parades.

Abu Dhabi’s integrated transport authority has announced that Khaleej Al Arabi Street will be closed in both directions between 5.30pm and 8pm on Friday, December 2.

UAE road closures

The ITC urged road users to drive cautiously and abide by traffic rules and regulations.

It also confirmed that the bridges of Al Maryah Island will close from 8.30pm to 9.30pm on both Friday, December 2 and Saturday, Deecmber 3.

Abu Dhabi Police announced earlier that trucks, heavy vehicles and buses transporting workers will be banned from entering Abu Dhabi Island during the celebrations of the 51st Union Day and Commemoration Day.

Brigadier Mohammad Dhahi Al-Hamiri, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, said the traffic ban started at noon on Wednesday, November 30, and will last until 1am, on Sunday, December 4.
