Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, the UAE’s Special Envoy for Climate Change and the President for the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28), has been instrumental in spearheading the UAE's green agenda, while championing the importance of the energy transition to accelerate economic growth and fulfill environmental goals.

Since his appointment as the special envoy in November 2020, a role he previously held between 2010 and 2016, Dr. Al Jaber has emerged as an architect of the UAE’s green economy initiative, supporting the country's leadership and their vision to achieve sustainable development across key industrial sectors.

Dr. Sultan Al Jaber is an Emirati national born on August 31st, 1973. He is married and has four children. Dr. Al Jaber obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California in the US. He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Business and Economics from Coventry University in the UK, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from the California State University in Los Angeles.
