Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has signed an agreement with developer Wasl Properties to develop creative public art projects across Dubai.
The deal is part of efforts to position Dubai as a cultural hub that bridges the east and west, a statement said.
Following the signing of the MoU (Memorandum of
Understanding), Brand Dubai and Wasl Properties will form a team to manage their upcoming joint projects, the statement added.
The first joint initiative will be an art project at the Samari Retail community where a wall painting will combine traditional Emirati art with modern creative styles.
Mona Al Marri, director general of the Government of Dubai Media Office, said Brand Dubai is continually working to transform Dubai into an open-air art museum.
He said: “Signing this MoU is part of Brand Dubai’s objective of contributing to the development of Dubai’s cultural and artistic scene in collaboration with our strategic partners.
“I am confident that Brand Dubai’s experience of developing creative public artworks aimed at enhancing the artistic and cultural ambience of the city and Wasl’s experience as a leading property development company will make this a very fruitful partnership.”
Hesham Abdullah Al Qassim, CEO of Wasl Asset Management Group, added: “We are honoured to work with Brand Dubai, and we welcome this partnership to develop new creative public art in Dubai.”
