Kuwait‘s General Administration for Drug Control and the General Administration of Customs, has arrested two Asian women, who were attempting to smuggle approximately 15 kilograms of marijuana, hidden in three postal parcels.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior’s General Department of Relations and Security Media stressed on the commitment of the security establishment to combat the dangers of drugs and arrest those involved in its distribution.
The task was carried out by the General Department for Drug Control under the Criminal Security Sector, in collaboration with the General Administration of Customs.
The two women, who are of Asian nationality, were caught hiding the narcotic plants hidden within three postal parcels, transported via air cargo.
On investigation, the defendants confessed to their involvement and ownership of the parcels.
Following this, the women were handed over to the authorities for necessary legal action. Moreover, Kuwait authorities are looking to locate and capture a third individual allegedly involved in the illicit activity.
Kuwait authorities have also urged citizens and residents to report any suspicious activities or incidents via the emergency hotline number (112) or contact the General Administration for Drug Control’s dedicated hotline (1884141).
