Dubai’s New Year’s Eve firework displays broke world records and were viewed around the world.

Spectators lined up in their thousands at locations around the emirate and in their millions on social media and television around the world to witness the incredible show.

Now, the world will see the performance at the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai in an entirely new light after incredible footage was shared online.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, shared footage taken by a videographer based in the city.

Sharing the video, seen below, with his more than 15m Instagram followers, Sheikh Hamdan simply added two applause emoji and let the breath-taking video speak for itself.

Stunning Dubai fireworks drone footage

Recorded by filmmaker Manuel Micheal Bassil and shared on his @manuelbassil Instagram account, the 39-second clip shows the fireworks at the Burj Al Arab as you have never seen them before.

The video follows a first person view of a drone flying in among the fireworks at the Burj Al Arab and even by the high standards set in Dubai it is a truly remarkable video.

Flashes of colour explode all around the camera in a spectacular light show of dazzling intensity.

Dubai’s Burj Khalifa also had incredible firework display on the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve. It reached new heights with a record-breaking firework display with 2,500 firing directions, 287 firing positions and 4,000 watts of lasers.
