Telegram founder Pavel Durov has been banned from leaving France as a condition of bail.
A French court in Paris granted conditional bail to Durov as part of criminal proceedings in the European country.
Durov is facing criminal charges in France and has been prohibited from leaving the country pending further investigation.

French authorities arrested Durov at Le Bourget Airport north of Paris last Saturday, acting on an arrest warrant issued by the French public prosecutor’s office.
French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Monday that Durov’s arrest was not politically motivated but rather part of an ongoing independent investigation.
He underscored France’s unwavering commitment to freedom of speech and expression, emphasising that the judicial process will determine Pavel Durov’s guilt or innocence.
Macron added that the government would not interfere with the course of justice.
The Ministry said the United Arab Emirates has submitted a request to the Government of the French Republic to provide him with all the necessary consular services in an urgent manner.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) stressed that prioritising the welfare of United Arab Emirates citizens, safeguarding their interests, and providing them with all aspects of support is a key priority for the country.
