In the early morning hours of Friday, several parts of the UAE were hit by heavy rainfall, thunder, and lightning.
Areas such as Qusais, Al Barsha, Business Bay, Dubai Investments Park and other nearby regions in Dubai experienced intense showers starting around 4:09 AM.
Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah also received moderate to heavy rainfall, the UAE National Center of Meteorology (NCM) said, issuing a yellow and orange weather alert.
This means that more rain and cloudy weather could be expected throughout the day across the country.
UAE calls for remote working amid unstable weather
The UAE is calling upon private sector employers to provide flexible work schedules on November 17, in light of unstable work conditions.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) emphasises the importance for private companies to guarantee the safety of employees during their commute and while working outdoors.
This directive follows the announcement by authorities in Ras Al Khaimah permitting remote work for students and school staff due to heavy rain.
