GEMS, the world’s largest private education firm, has partnered with Dubai Sports City to run an academy at the development.

The deal, which is effective from September 2013, will see Dubai-based GEMS partner in the operation of the Bradenton Preparatory Academy (BPA).

The academy will offer lessons based on the American curriculum and will cover students from Kindergarten 1 through to Grade 12. Its academic programmes are modelled after the Dubai American Academy, currently rated “outstanding” by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority.

“Dubai Sports City is delighted to enter into this new partnership with GEMS Education for the operation of Bradenton Preparatory Academy,” said Dubai Sports City chief financial officer, Vijay Sajjanhar.

“GEMS’ record and its reputation, not only in Dubai through the Dubai American Academy, but also throughout the world, speaks for itself and this agreement is great news for every child attending BPA,” he added.

GEMS has appointed Dr Connie Weiner, who has 15 years of education experience, as BPA’s new head of school.

GEMS Education has more than 100 schools globally including more than 30 schools in the UAE.
