Global chauffeur service Blacklane has announced its expansion across Saudi Arabia, with operations now active in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Mecca, marking the company’s first phase of growth within the Kingdom.

The move is supported by TASARU Mobility Investments, a wholly owned investment arm of the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

The Germany-headquartered company said its entry into the Saudi market is aimed at supporting Vision 2030 through job creation and the development of local talent, as part of the Kingdom’s wider economic diversification efforts.

“Bringing our luxury chauffeur service to the Kingdom marks an exciting milestone in Blacklane’s global expansion,” said Dr Jens Wohltorf, CEO and co-founder of Blacklane.

“Saudi is a key destination for sophisticated travellers and residents alike, and we’re proud to introduce a new standard of reliable, high quality and seamless mobility to the region. We are dedicated to fostering local talent and supporting the continued growth of Saudi’s thriving economic diversification.”

Blacklane to launch Chauffeur Academy

As part of its investment, Blacklane will launch the Blacklane Chauffeur Academy to offer professional training to its partners in Saudi Arabia. The company also plans to introduce electric vehicles (EVs) in a future phase, positioning itself to contribute to the Kingdom’s sustainability goals.

“TASARU’s investment in Blacklane marks a key milestone in our ongoing efforts to transform the mobility sector in Saudi Arabia,” said Michael Mueller, CEO of TASARU Mobility Investments.

“By introducing premium, sustainable chauffeur services and advanced training through the Chauffeur Academy, we’re actively contributing to Vision 2030’s objectives, including economic diversification and local job creation.”

The expansion follows Blacklane’s recent scale-up in Dubai and forms part of its broader Middle East strategy. The company now operates in more than 50 countries globally.

The Saudi Arabia operations are being led by newly appointed general manager Adib Samara. The Riyadh-based team now includes staff across sales, marketing, operations, and account management.

Further city launches in the Kingdom are expected to be announced in the coming months.
