Next World Forum signs massive GCC deal to establish Esports Federation

The Next World Forum, a global industry gathering dedicated to shaping the future of the dynamic gaming and esports sector, has successfully concluded its two-day conference.

The conference marked progress for the industry, organisers announced.

Hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Center and led by the Saudi Esports Federation, the event brought together over 2,500 delegates, including CEOs, government ministers, investors, gamers, developers, publishers, broadcasters, and leaders from the gaming, entertainment, technology, and sports industries.

In addition, the forum saw an agreementt among the six GCC countries to establish the GCC Esports Federation, aiming to push athletes through for annual eLeague tournaments, Next World said in a statement.

This landmark agreement was just one of 14 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) inked during the event, underlining the forum’s pivotal role in fostering crucial collaborations within the gaming and esports industry.

“The Next World Forum has provided the worldwide gaming and esports industry with an expansive platform for business growth and progress,” Turki Alfawzan, CEO of the Saudi Esports Federation said highlighting the forum’s impact on advancing Saudi Arabia’s vision of becoming a global gaming and esports hub.

In addition to the MOUs, several business deals were sealed, significantly surpassing the achievements of the forum’s inaugural edition last year.

Day one of the forum featured panel sessions with prominent figures like Gareth Bale, the former football star turned esports investor, and Michael Bay, the Hollywood film producer and director.

Day two saw discussions on critical topics such as esports facilities, gender diversity in gaming leadership, the political influences on gaming, and the physical and mental health challenges faced by esports players.

Reaam Alkhudairi, Program Manager for the Next World Forum, expressed immense pride in the event’s inclusivity, with speakers representing the entire spectrum of the gaming and esports industry.

“Encapsulating creativity, innovation and diversity, we are immensely proud that the Next World Forum panels embraced the full spectrum of gaming and esports and its associated industries. Featuring eminent leaders and expert speakers, the forum attracted more than 2,500 delegates this year from all corners of the world, fully reflecting the global appeal of gaming,” Alkhudairi said.

She added that the Next World Forum has undeniably played a pivotal role in shaping the future of the gaming and esports sector, bringing invaluable collaborations, and addressing pressing industry challenges.

The event also marked the grand finale of Gamers8: The Land of Heroes, a colossal gaming and esports festival featuring elite tournaments and electrifying live concert performances.
