Payment solutions provider Tabby processed over SAR162 million ($43 million) in sales in Saudi Arabia and the UAE on March 28th alone.
The feat was revealed through Tabby’s online Ramadan Dashboard, which granted real-time access to the company’s retail sales data for 24 hours.
The dashboard provided a glimpse into Ramadan shopping and unveiled impressive stats. A total of SAR162,444,039 ($43 million) was processed through 244,156 orders on March 28th, with an average order value of SAR665 ($177), 10 percent higher than non-Ramadan months.
Tabby’s sales soar past millions
Peak shopping hour saw Tabby process SAR13,225,421 ($3.5 million) in just 60 minutes – over SAR220,000 ($58,000) per minute. Top selling categories included mobile phones, insurance, and flight tickets.
Compared to 2023, Tabby saw a 195 percent surge in sales volume for the single day. Ramadan stands as the key sales season of the year regionally, with retailers experiencing a surge of over a third in sales, the company said.

“When you stand back and look at the numbers that Middle Eastern retailers are driving, it truly is inspiring,” said Hosam Arab, CEO and Co-Founder of Tabby.
“These incredible figures are down to the hard work of local entrepreneurs and a growing retail ecosystem. We’re proud to play a role in helping our sellers improve their shopping experience and give them the tools they need to grow their business,” Arab added.
The live dashboard was hailed as a milestone in providing transparency into retail data, in the region’s first-ever live, real-time access to sales.
