A senior executive of Oracle said Saudi Arabia was the first investment option for the technology major in increasing the capacity of cloud computing to serve customers.

Richard Smith, executive vice president of technology for Oracle’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa region, also highlighted the increasing growth in the cloud computing market in the Kingdom compared to other countries.

The Oracle senior executive also said they valued Saudi Arabia’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) for its efforts and support for the communications and IT sector in the country.

Smith made the remarks during a meeting of the delegation led by him with Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al-Tamimi, Governor of CITC, in Riyadh on Sunday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed various aspects of cooperation between the two parties and the latest developments of the company, and its growth in cloud computing locally and regionally.

Al-Tamimi appraised the Oracle delegation about the rapid development of the communications and IT sector in the Kingdom and its progress in global indicators.

He also highlighted the rate of women’s participation in the digital field in Saudi Arabia, which is higher than the rate of EU and G20 countries.
