Saudi Arabia has called on its citizens to leave Lebanon “immediately” amid rising tensions in the region.

The Saudi foreign ministry issued a statement reiterating its advice for nationals to avoid travel to Lebanon.

In an X post, the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Lebanon said, “The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is closely following the developments of events in southern Lebanon, and the embassy renews its call on Saudi citizens to leave Lebanese territory immediately in compliance with the decision to ban travel to Lebanon.”

Beirut Airport sees long queues as travellers rush to leave; US, UK, France urge travellers to leave

At Beirut airport, travellers faced long queues on Sunday, with some cutting short their summer holidays. Airlines have cancelled flights due to concerns about potential conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

The Saudi warning follows similar advice from the US, UK, and France, who have also urged their citizens to leave Lebanon as soon as possible.

Several airlines, including Lufthansa and Air France, have delayed or suspended flights to the country.
