Expo 2020 Dubai’s culture ambassador has been revealed as none other than Emirati singing sensation Hussain Al Jassmi, who is set to exemplify world-class entertainment awaiting visitors at the six month event in October, 2020.
Al Jassmi is one of the Arab world’s most successful male singers, with a fan base of nearly four million on streaming platform YouTube alone.
In the lead up to the Expo 2020: The World’s Greatest Show, his partnership will seek to showcase the emirates’ rich culture to a global audience, as the event is expected to attract 25 million visits and more than 190 countries to explore the theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’.
Al Jassmi, whose hit singles include songs such as Fakadtak and Boshret Kheir, said the Expo 2020 partnership is a “golden opportunity” to showcase the potentials of the UAE’s pool of talented individuals.
He added: “I also consider it a perfect opportunity to express pride in my dear country by telling the story of the UAE and Expo 2020 to the whole world. I can’t wait until Expo 2020 Dubai welcomes people and cultures from every corner of the planet to the UAE for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that also aims to make our world a better place.”
The Expo 2020 which will continue until the 10th of April, 2021, will celebrates its ‘One Year to Go’ milestone later this month.
Manal Al Bayat, Chief Community Engagement Officer, Expo 2020 Dubai, said Al Jassmi is a “much-loved performer who holds the UAE’s values close to his heart and speaks to audiences around the world”.
