Dubai’s Emirates announces new robot check-in system

Over 200 robotic check-in systems will be installed at airports across the city

Emirates check-in systems are set to improve, this year. A new robot check-in, the first of its kind in the world will be launched across airports in the city.

The robot named Sara, using AI technology will be able to perform the check-in process in three simple steps. The check-in robot will be able to assist travellers in six languages and can perform functions for check-in processes and hotel bookings.

“Emirates showcased the world’s first check-in robot at their Innovation Forum, ForsaTEK, which is set to transform passenger experience at airports. The check-in robot named Sara can perform a very simple 3 step check-in using biometric identification and can work seamlessly in an airport environment. The robot is AI-enabled, and in the future will be able to assist passengers with additional services like airport navigation, booking deals and accepting baggage,” An Emirates spokesperson told Arabian Business.

Travellers can expect to see the first few robots in Dubai airports soon.

The robot was first unveiled at the Innovation Forum, ForsaTEK. In the future, Sara will also be able to assist with accepting baggage and airport navigation.

Sara is completely locally produced and Emirates will be the first airline globally to introduce the technology.
